Our History

"Computer Support Services" was founded in 1984 in Shannon, Ireland. Originally CSS was designing software for Mini and Mainframe computers.

1988 we completed our first contract in Russia. CSS supplied the computer equipment and software for "Aerofirst" Joint Venture at the Duty free shops in Sheremetyevo-2, and also in St. Petersburg, Vyborg and Kiev.

1991 Because of the increase in business, CSS opened its first office in Moscow, and was a leading player in founding the Soviet - Irish trade company SITCO.

1993 CSS opens Representative office in St. Petersburg. Also during the year CSS completed, what was then, one of the largest "state of the art" computer networks for Chevron Oil in Kazakhstan. This network comprises of 900 Computers, servers, 40 LANs spread over 40 Kilometers using fiber optic and radio communications. To this day, CSS continues to support and service this site with our staff on-site in Kazakhstan.

1994 CSS International commenced a "Turn-Key" contract with Moscow Sberbank for the delivery of computer equipment and the installation of a Structured Cabling System in 23 of the branches.
1994 "CSS-St. Petersburg" was registered.

1995 CSS-St. Petersburg completes delivery of active network equipment and installation of AT&T SYSTIMAX SCS for the branches of "Petrovsky" Bank and "Era-Henkel", a subsidiary of company of Henkel, Germany.

1996 CSS-St. Petersburg installs one of the largest AT&T SYSTIMAX SCS networks in St. Petersburg with approx. 2000 links for Promstroybank of St. Petersburg.

1997 CSS-St. Petersburg installs SYSTIMAX SCS (Lucent Technologies) and also Cisco Systems and Bay Networks active network equipment for the Central office of the Leningrad Regional Sberbank, Nevsky 99. On completion, St. Petersburg Sberbank and Leningrad Regional Sberbank amalgamated and the building is now the Central office of the Sberbank of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region.

1998 Celebrates five years of CSS successful work in St. Petersburg.
It also saw the completion of the network at Unilever Russia's Head office, utilising Lucent Technologies/Cisco Systems' equipment.
CSS-St. Peterburg also completes one of the first Lucent Technologies' SYSTIMAX SCS GigaSpeed standard network in Moscow Industrial Bank (St. Petersburg branch).

1999 To fulfill customer's requirements and needs CSS-St. Petersburg established a special team, namely Group2000, within Service Department to ensure a smooth transition through year 2000.

2000 CSS-St. Petersburg completes the installation of IT systems for Ford Motor Company offices in St. Petersburg, and wins the tender for the LAN installation in Ford Factory.
Also completes the installation of IT systems for ILIM Pulp Enterprise, the largest manufacturer of pulp and paper products in Russia.

2001 Using the equipment from Cisco Systems and The Simon Company, CSS St. Petersburg completes the installation of one of the largest networks in Russia for Kotlas Pulp and Paper Mill, subsidiary of ILIM Pulp Enterprise.
To supply eLearning solution to its clients, a new Company, CSSeTrain.com, has been established. CSSeTrain.com signs an exclusive agreement with Click2learn, Inc., the world-class leader in the eLearning market.
